SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel: Goodness in Simple Things

Sometimes very simple products work miracles. Take 2 ingredients and mix them in a light, neutral base and there you are. No need to be a genious to do that but for my skin, Skinceuticals did it right with this product. And even if most people find this SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel too expensive for its content (around 55 euros for 30ml), I found this product to be extremely helpful and not so expensive if you think that this bottle will easily last for more than five months.

So what is the Skinceuticals B5 Gel? This is a combination of vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid. Simple as that. It's a gel-serum that does not pretend to work by itself, this is a moisturization booster, to use before your moisturizing cream. It magnifies the potencial of hydration of the skin and has healing properties. It promises to help repair skin tissue and nourish the skin. The presence of hyaluronic acid ensures that the skin is moisturized to its maximum, since this is one of the most powerful ingredients you can get for this purpose. It promises to make skin look softer and reduce oilyness.

This is a very soft product, that everyone can use. It is suitable for all skin types, but you those of you that have acne-prone skin may find it very useful since it regulates sebum and helps the healing process. It can calm skin down if you are doing an aggressive skin treatment. It's a great base for all skincare products you will apply next.

The texture of the Skinceuticals B5 Gel is strange. It feels like a lubricant when you apply it. You only need one drop for the entire face and when you spread it, it feels like a gliding thing that leaves a film. It feels exactly like a water base sex lubricant!! The skin doesn't seem to absorb it immediately so you might find it a bit strange but after a few days you will master its strange texture and that will be no problem. It disappears under your main face cream.

What it did for me? Well, it calms down my skin into total zen state. It is wonderful as an after shave for example. It is so soothing and light, it feels like a caress to the skin. Then, my skin never had a case of redness again. All minor cuts are over with this gel. Fine wrinkles are less visible. The skin regained a healthy look. Never again have I seen a sign of dry skin. But the best of all comes next. I always had a serious case of rash and pimples on my neck. I had redness, irritated skin, ingrown hair... a hot mess. After I started applying this gel on my neck, all of this miraculously disappeared. I know you may say that it was enough to moisturize it and it would pass anyway. Well I have tried all sorts of moisturizers and even creams like Cicalfate and Bepanthene with no success whatsoever regarding redness and irritation. With Skinceuticals B5 Gel I never experienced it again. So I will buy it over and over. B5 may not be groundbreaking but it does it for me. And that's a fact!
