Today I'm gonna be reviewing Skinn Cosmetics Eye Shadow & Blush Palette in Flushed, a beautiful, multi-purpose palette comprising five eyeshadows and a blush. What I really love about this palette is the fact that it effortlessly takes you from day to night. With this compact in your purse, it's easy to turn your simple and fresh daytime makeup into a stunning evening look, without having to use any other products.

To create an effortless and youthful, girl next door look, I used two lightest shades of Skinn eye shadow – a sparkling light pink/nude highlighter, and a soft pink eyeshadow. I also used Bourjois Air Mat foundation to even out the skin tone, and create a nice, matte looking finish.

For a daytime, a single eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara is all you need, but I combined two of the shades, to create an illusion of a fresh, pinky radiance, which will be one of the major makeup trends next Spring. For a day look, I used a chocolate-brown eyeliner, a shade that complements my green eyes, and is less harsh than black. I used the pinky rose blush to get that perfectly flushed cheeks, before I highlighted the highest points of my cheekbones using the lightest shade of SKINN eyeshadow (yes, it doubles as a face highlighter!). This radiant, subtle look inspired me to stick with lighter, more natural formulas, so I used Yves Rocher Moisturizing Cream Lipstick in 71 Bois De Rose, to round up the look. And voila... Here is what it looks like under different lighting...

It took me only five minutes for a day-to-night makeover, and only two darker shades of SKINN eyeshadow, an inky black eyeliner, and an extra coat of mascara. As you can see, I didn't take off any makeup before transforming my daily look into something hotter, bolder, and more appropriate for a night out. I used the medium-brown eye shadow, over my base shadow, to add some depth and definition, by simply blending the shade towards the outer coner of my eye. Then I used the darkest shade to line the bottom lash line and on the crease line. I used a blending brush to create a contour effect on the outer part of my eyelids, so to add some dimension and drama to the look.

SKINN Cosmetics formulas are rich in anti-aging actives and talc-free, with no apparent fragrance. The anti-aging ingredients include the collagen-boosting peptide and retinol, but I’m not sure if these really work in a powder formulation, nor if they stay stable in this sort of packaging. Nevertheless, the eyeshadows apply softly, but you can use them with a damp brush for more intense result. The blusher has a smooth, dry texture, while its application results in a natural, sheer, and youthfully flushed look.

To conclude, Skinn Cosmetics Eye Shadow & Blush Palette in Flushed is an exquisitely tailored selection of eyeshadows and a blush, packed in a convenient and portable black lacquered case. The palette comes with a sizable mirror on one side, and a selection of well coordinated, high-pigmented eyeshadow and blush formulas on the opposite side. As you can see, the packaging is rather simple, but in accordance with Dimitri’s business philosophy: "focus on what goes into the jar and how it will make you look, not how the jar looks." Still, I wish the packaging would also include Dimitri’s tips on how to use an Eye Shadow & Blush Palette like a pro.
