Vichy Normaderm BB Clear Product Review

Here is my review of Vichy’s Normaderm BB Clear, which is actually a multi-tasking tinted moisturizer developed for oily and/or imperfection-prone skin.

I’m not exactly a good match for Vichy’s target group, but after testing out a number of products from Normaderm range, I decided to freshen up my spring makeup wardrobe with Normaderm BB Clear. The reason is quite simple – I wanted a product that moisturizes skin, feels fresh, that is both soothing and lightweight, and doesn’t clog pores. On top of that, Vichy Normaderm BB Clear promises to give a long-lasting matte finish, which is something I always look for in complexion products.

As you may know from one of my earlier reviews, the Bourjois Air Mat foundation has been in my makeup bag for a couple of months. Even though it does wonders for my complexion, I wanted to transition my makeup from winter to spring with something that is even more lightweight, but without compromising its shine-free finish. I finally decided to go with Vichy Normaderm BB Clear, a product that promises to cover and clear imperfections, while also treating acne.

Even though I don't have an acne-prone skin type, I sometimes suffer from hormonal blemishes, and my skin sometimes becomes a bit congested. Based on my experience with other Normaderm products, a high concentration of salicylic acid found in their formulas is very helpful for keeping these problems under control. I've been very much impressed with their performance, but Normaderm BB Clear cream has definitely exceeded my expectations.

I really love the way my skin feels and looks when using this product, and especially its confidence-boosting, natural-looking finish. The cream covers up really nicely, feels light, and makes my skin look so natural, as if I'm not wearing any products. It evens out the complexion, and creates a nice, shine-free finish, that doesn't look neither dewy nor dull. A semi-matte would probably be the best way to describe it, as it certainly lets a little bit of skin’s inner radiance shine through, so my skin doesn't look flat. I wear it without a setting powder, but it still perfectly covers redness, keeps shine under control, and has a great minimizing effect on the pores.

Vichy Normaderm BB Clear has 2% of salicylic acid, which means that it helps treat acne and prevents new skin blemishes from occurring. This active works by increasing the amount of moisture in the skin, and dissolving the substance that causes blemishes. The product, which is formulated with mineral pigments, is available in two shades – Light and Medium. As all Vichy products, the Normaderm BB Clear cream is tested under dermatological and ophthalmological control and suitable for sensitive skin. The formula is non-comedogenic, paraben-free, and has a SPF16 rating.

Whom would I recommend it to?

This BB cream is excellent for anyone who wants to cover up imperfections and blemishes, while keeping a fresh, natural look. The product is a subtle alternative to Vichy Dermablend corrective foundation, which gives a total coverage in a blendable texture.

Consumers with oily/ imperfection-prone skin will benefit the most from using it, as it conceals and treats acne without drying out the skin. Moreover the product is equally great for those who suffer from hormonal blemishes, and clogged, congested pores, as well as for those with combination skin. But, basically, this BB cream is literally for everyone, no matter what skin type they have, as it gives an even, light coverage, with a fresh, hydrating feel. You can also use it instead of your foundation. Just wait a few seconds until it sets in place, and go on with your blush, highlighter or bronzer.

Vichy's Normaderm BB Clear is also great for teenagers, as more than 76% of them have skin problems between the ages of 11 and 18. When I look back at my teenage years, I can't help but wish something like BB Clear existed. This BB cream is a bit more age-appropriate alternative to heavier makeup, and it also treats young and challenged skin.
