Yves Saint Laurent introduces its new Le Cushion Encre de Peau Cushion Foundation
The house of Yves Saint Laurent is tapping into the cushion foundation trend with its new Le Cushion Encre de Peau Cushion Foundation.
YSL Encre de Peau Cushion Foundation is a new, more portable version of Yves Saint Laurent Fusion Ink Le Teint Encre De Peau Foundation. Same as its predecessor the Encre de Peau Cushion Foundation delivers flawless coverage that lasts up to 24 hours and feels ultra-light on the skin. While the product was originally packed in a rectangular glass bottle, with golden stopper and special face-zoning applicator, the Encre de Peau Cushion Foundation is delivered in a convenient cushion compact.

The new format is inspired by Korean cushion foundation compacts, which are the biggest trend in makeup now! We wrote about them here. A cushion compact foundation is designed to create a smooth, uniform canvas that minimizes shine, make your skin look and feel fresh, and give it a natural-looking finish combined with moisturizing and protective benefits.

The compact case of Le Cushion Encre de Peau Cushion Foundation opens to reveal a sponge soaked with liquid foundation. The formula is based on the good old Fusion Foundation, which was introduced back in 2014, as the most scientifically advanced make-up in the world. The special lipophilic active material, found in its formula was originally developed by NASA for trapping fine particles in outer space. It absorbs four times its weight in sebum to keep skin matte and ensure a comfortable 24-hour wear.

A separate antibacterial sponge pad applicator, which is also included, is ideal for blending and achieving a perfect, natural finish, and long-lasting weightless coverage. Thanks to its liquid formula, the foundation incorporates a broad spectrum SPF 23 / PA ++, without leaving any white cast on the skin.
The new YSL Le Cushion Encre de Peau Cushion Foundation is available in six color variants. The product is hitting the shelves in February 2016, with a price tag of approximately $88.00.
