Yves Saint Laurent Or Rouge Premium Skin Care

Yves Saint Laurent is launching its new premium skin care line named Or Rouge, which means Red Gold. The collection is named after the rare and exclusive sort of saffron, which can be found in the faraway Atlas Mountains of Morocco.

Saffron, the most expensive spice in the world, is derived from the dried stigmas of the flower of Crocus sativus. This luxurious spice is among the world's most costly by weight, since it takes anything from 50,000 to 75,000 flowers to make 1 lb (450 g) of saffron. Crocus flowers grown in Morocco are known for their high concentration of a unique glycan known as crocin, which is a botanically-sourced ingredient with powerful anti-aging benefits. Glycans are known to promote renewal of the skin cells, to restore the structure and support the architecture of the skin. Glycans, which are typically found on the exterior surface of cells, are gradually diminishing as people age. This, in turn, leads to visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles, loss of volume, and sagging skin.

The new skin care range from YSL focuses on one particular glycan named 6.D-m. The quantity of this glycan doesn’t decrease with age, and its bonding with corcin may actually restore skin’s ability to regenerate and resist environmental stressors. The base of the new Or Rouge formula is made from corcin and another plycan, X-Glycan, which is described as a good recipe to stimulate skin’s renewal capacity. The YSL Or Rouge line is said to improve the look of fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of aging. It also helps with the lack of firmness and dullness, improves skin quality and uniforms the skin tone.
