The house of Yves Saint Laurent is launching the Terre Saharienne makeup collection, which is a summery beauty range inspired by one of the Maison’s flagship fragrances – the Saharienne.

Same as the famous fragrance, the Terre Saharienne makeup collection is an invitation to an exotic journey in the wilderness. Even though its name evokes the vast African desert, the collection, and the iconic fragrance, are actually inspired by the famous safari jacket, which was designed by YSL in 1968. The original safari jacket was made specifically for a fashion spread in Vogue magazine. The photograph, which was made by Franco Rubartelli, captures the famous muse of the seventies, Veruschka, wearing the jacket with a belt with a ring-shaped buckle.
