Christian Louboutin, the famous French footwear designer, famous for his signature red-lacquered soles, is stepping into another realm of beauty. This time he enters the beauty arena with a small line of gorgeous and luxurious Christian Louboutin Nail Polishes.
Christian Louboutin has revealed that one particular bottle of nail polish made all the difference in his career - back in 1992, while examining one design from his third footwear collection, he found that the shoe wasn't colorful and captivating as his original sketch. Then he grabbed a bottle of red nail polish from his assistant and painted his signature red soles.
A fiery red shade named Rouge Louboutin Nail Polish, housed in an amazingly tall, spiky bottle, has already launched at U.S. concession shop on the eighth floor at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship in New York and the 15 Louboutin boutiques across the United States. The rest of the range will hit the shelves on August 6, 2014 - at Saks, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom and select Sephora doors - together with his footwear collections.
The Christian Louboutin Nail Polish is priced at $50 per shade. In addition to the signature red polish, Louboutin will introduce 30 additional hues. The formula is said to contain the highest percentage of color pigment in the industry, while each of its unusual crystal bottles requires no less than 22 weeks of meticulous work. The long-wearing, chip-resistant finish delivers glossy color and UV protection, while only two layers of the polish give the effect of up to 20 layers of traditional polish! A triangular brush is custom-designed to ensure flawless application, even coverage and to prevent air bubbles.
