OPI has announced its upcoming nail collection inspired by the great northern lights of Finland, the deep blue fjords of Norway and the colorful houses of Copenhagen: OPI Nordic Collection.
The OPI Nordic Collection features twelve new shades, ranging from a copper bronze to deep blue violets and black cherries. There are even some vibrant brights such as vivid coral, hot pink and unusual sea green. In an interview for the moodiereport, OPI Cofounder and Executive VP Suzi Weiss-Fischmann explained the genesis of the Nordic Collection: “When creating colors for a new seasonal collection, I always draw inspiration from the food, music, art, landscape and street style of a particular destination. While conceptualizing the shades of the Nordic Collection, I ate cinnamon buns and drank glogg, snapped photographs of brightly painted houses, and gazed in wonder at the region’s topography – from the northern lights and midnight sun to lava flats and deep fjords. All of these diverse elements came together to inspire an equally varied array of colors that capture the aesthetic of the Nordic region.”
As always, the new nail polish collection is designed in line with the seasonal runaway trends. The shades are carefully chosen to complement the oxblood, coral and earthy tones, which are coming back in vogue this fall.
The OPI Nordic Collection is launching in August 2014, at all Sephora locations and OPI nail salons and retailers. And, here is your first look at the shade selection:
